Writing Poetry

write
poetry ‘til
the art Sings
the truth Rings
like a bell in your Soul
then keep writing more lines
until you are Whole then Write ‘til you
explode in Light, never even put down the Pen.
you never know When it will matter Most.
it always matters. Host every word
with Hospitality;  words warm
your  house  of  its
cold Formality.
Write is Right
keep writing
write

I LOVE your poem. My very traditional, manly grandfather born approx 1895 did not start writing poetry until he was in his 80’s. More the loss for us. Something cracked open as he got older, he became more open, perhap less afraid, less rigid as he grew older. It was pretty amazing. If you have to hide from yourself how is anyone else supposed to know who you are?

    • Kathleen, that’s a beautiful story, though sad too. Hopefully something cracks open for us all, though sooner–perhaps a little more cracking every decade?
